YI Bar & Grill

I was at the YI Bar & Grill Located on Gordons Corner Rd in Manalapan this Saturday night to watch my friend’s cousin’s husbands band “Basket Case” perform. They are a pretty awesome band that plays your typical cover band rock and alternative songs. The bar got pretty crowded but with a 30 & up crowd. Bartenders had excellent service and they had good drink specials. This is not a place I’d really hang out with friends, but for the occasion to watch the band it was sufficient.

507 Main

507 Main, located on Main Street in Belmar is one of my favorite places to go, whether it be a Friday night, Saturday night, or even some nights during the week. I was there this Friday with a few of my girlfriends and it was an awesome time as usual.

If you’ve never been to 507 Main, the set up is nice. The first room has your bar with bar tables, along with DJ Jersey mixing it up. It’s a great time dancing, however, my only complaint is the dance area isn’t so large and people going back and forth make it sometimes difficult to dance. Go down the hall and in the next room you have live entertainment with Joe and Pat Roddy. Live entertainment is different each weekend so you can go on their website and it has a calendar of which band is playing for that night. There is an outside patio as well where you can hang out and enjoy listening to the music as well. If you’re a smoker, this is very convenient for you.

507 Main does get very crowed but with a respectable early 20s to 30s crowd. The music is great, the bartenders serve you quick, and I must say that the bouncers are incredible. Not only are they good looking to look at, but they keep things in line, and there are never any fights unlike other shore bars. Go check it this summer!

Jenks Club

Need somewhere to hang out on a Sunday night after a long weekend??? The place to be…is Jenks Club every Sunday night party with The Benjamin’s and DJ Unique in between sets. I was first introduced to The Benjamin’s about 3 years ago and I honestly have to say they are one of the best cover bands out there! You can enjoy $3 Coronas all night long and be able to just relax and enjoy a nice simple crowd considering many people have to work the next morning. If you’re fortunate like me, and have the summers off, it’s definitely the place to be every Sunday!

Hemingway's

New to this summer featuring great nightly entertainment is Hemingway’s Café. I heard many people talking about this new place, and one night my friends decided hey let’s check out the new place in Seaside Heights. It was Thursday night and honestly at first, I was very hesitant. But from the minute I walked in, WOW! I was impressed! The set-up was amazing! There are various spacious bars, professional billiard tables, dart boards, and many HD LCD TV's throughout the bar. The casual dining is in a very relaxing atmosphere; however I have not eaten there yet. My friend had their sushi and said it was delicious! If you love to dance this is the place to go. They have a great selection of music that they play. I cannot wait to check it out on a weekend night when they clear the pool tables and it becomes a large dance floor.

My Tuesday nights are spent at the Boathouse Bar and Grill located on Main Street in Belmar. The Boathouse is a fun, casual dining environment, which also is known for their very clean-cut spacious bar, which draws a nice, respectable crowd. For those that have never been to the Boathouse, you must check it out. Every Tuesday night, DJ Jersey Joe gets the party started! If you’re a big sports fan, then you’re in luck. There are more than a dozen big screen televisions throughout the bar and you can watch every game on any given night. Enjoy their extensive menu right in the midst of summer right outside in their beautiful terrace. At the Boathouse, you can enjoy fantastic nightly entertainment anytime so make sure to check it out!
